Gretchen relives her life of being raised as a farmer's daughter. Her school years were spent at Gunter rural school, and she was a 1937 graduate of Butterfield High School. Inspired by her many wonderful school teachers, Gretchen's love of teaching began at an early age. In June of 1937 she married a local teacher and minister, Raymon Cameron. Read along as Gretchen reminisces about her years as a school teacher, a minister's wife and a mother. Her interviews were conducted in the summer of 2008. |

O.V. Dodson was born in the Gunter community. His parents were farmers, owned a butcher shop and raised a large family, and in 1929 the family moved to Idaho. In 1933, he returned to Missouri where he began his teaching career. After his marriage to Elaine he was called to preach. Mr. Dodson shares with us his many experiences as a pastor and fond memories of the people that he has ministered. His interviews were conducted in the fall of 2009. |

Charles England grew up the youngest of ten children. He shares his memories of the Depression, World War II and rural family life. As a child, Nancy Joslin England grew up in the Irwin Hotel in Cassville which her maternal grandparents owned. She recalls her pleasant memories of the hotel, its guests, and the business people in Cassville. George and Nancy owned and operated a Skelly Service Station on Main Street in Cassville for many years. Their interviews were held in the summer of 2008. |

Having lost her mother at age six, Beulah's father remarried Bessie whom Beulah remembers as being a good cook and a hard worker. The Purdy community was where Beulah spent her childhood and her married life. When Beulah was only 14 years old she married Jack Morlan, and subsequently his mother provided a significant influence toward Beulah becoming a wife and homemaker. This interview took place in the winter of 2007-08. |
