Born in Silver City, Iowa, Ed recalls a very eventful and exciting life. He has a rich German heritage with many connections to important famous people and events. While on his honeymoon in May of 1966, Ed and Lenora discovered Cassville and liked the small-town atmosphere. When Ed was offered a teaching position in Cassville he gladly accepted it and moved his family here in July 1966. Ed has experienced a varied career and found special delight in accounting. The interviews were conducted in the fall of 2014. |

Herschel Stehlik's interviews took place during January, 2014. He recalls his childhood in Phenix, Missouri, before serving in the military and meeting his wife of 62 years, Della (Jones) Stehlik. Their lives together brought them to Cassville where they owned and operated a successful business before they sold the lumberyard and retired in 1994. |
